A sporty destination from the beginning

Sports. Movement. Nature.

There is a long tradition for all kind of sports at lake Riessersee. The famous ice hockey club SC Riessersee was founded here and in 1936 the Riessersee was part of the Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Historic bob run is today a popular monument with its own little museum.

Tradition bounds. Today, the Riessersee Hotel is one of only two Partnerhotels of the German Skiing Association (DSV) in Bavaria and through the year special events take place like racer weeks, e-mobility days and sporty highlights on the lake like boating, curling or stand-up-paddeling.

The gym with equipment for craft and endurance sport as well as sauna, steam bath and pool on site complete the sporty possibilities. Find even a bike garage, ski room and a luggage depot for hikers and bikers and during the winter months the lake invites as an ice rink with flood light for pond hockey, curling and ice skating.
